Premium Olive Oil

OLIO COTTONE SICILIAN CHARACTER & AUTHENTIC MEDITERRANEAN EXPRESSION

From the sunlit landscapes of Sicily, Olio Cottone reflects a Mediterranean tradition shaped by intensity, light, and a deep connection to the land.

Produced from carefully selected olives, often harvested while still green to preserve their freshness and aromatic complexity, this extra virgin olive oil expresses a vibrant and distinctive Sicilian identity.

The olives are processed with precision shortly after harvest, ensuring the preservation of their natural purity and the integrity of their aromas, resulting in an oil that balances warmth, roundness, and structure.

Its profile reveals a harmonious expression, with notes of ripe olive, dry herbs, and a subtle toasted character, supported by a gentle bitterness and a controlled, elegant pungency that extends into a persistent finish.

This approach reflects a philosophy centered on authenticity and consistency, where each harvest captures the essence of Sicilian terroir through both tradition and careful craftsmanship.

Recognized internationally for its quality, Olio Cottone stands among the distinctive extra virgin olive oils shaped by the richness of southern Italy.

Awarded a Gold Award at the Dubai Olive Oil Competition Early Harvest 2026,Olio Cottone confirms its place among the best olive oils in the world.

✨ Olio Cottone, the vibrant soul of Sicily, expressed with precision and authenticity.

Growing region

Village / Growing region: Caltabellotta in Italy / Sicily

Caltabellotta in Sicily is located northwest of Agrigento at an elevation of 949 meters. Caltabellotta has about 3,900 inhabitants. The main economic sector for the inhabitants of Caltabellotta is agriculture. Caltabellotta is known for the cultivation of high-quality olives, excellent wine, and delicious citrus fruits.

In 2010, I, Nicolo Cottone (WIKI) from Solingen, was appointed as the ambassador of Caltabellotta. A great honor for me.

In the center of the beautiful town of Caltabellotta, the town hall is located at Piazza Umberto, and on the other side stands the Carmine Church. Inside the Carmine Church is the statue of the Virgin Mary by Antonello Gagini from the year 1534. The Church of Carmine has been shining in new light since it was restored in 1950.

At the ancient parish church of Maria SS. Assunta, dating back to the year 1300, one can enjoy a beautiful view over the entire valley. The church is particularly notable for its geometric design with its pointed arch portal. In 2001, the church was completely renovated, and since then, services have been held there again.

An interesting feature is the staircase carved into the rock, which leads up to the ruins of the castle. The ruins date back to the Norman period and have been structurally altered multiple times over the decades. The unique aspect of this castle is that it was the site where the famous Peace Treaty of Caltabellotta was signed in 1302 between Frederick II of Aragon and Charles of Valois, thus ending the Sicilian Vespers. Consequently, Sicily came under the rule of the House of Aragon.
