Our olive oil

Produced from our own olive groves, the oiling takes place within a few hours at low temperatures, in order to preserve all the organoleptic characteristics in the final product.

The intense fruity characteristics are due to the common grinding process which ensures that the olives are crushed 8 hours - at the most - after harvest at 22 degrees Celsius by cold pressing.

Storage is done directly in tanks with added nitrogen to preserve its freshness and elements until the expiration date. The most important difference, then, lies in the fact that we have full control of the fruit, from cultivation to standardization.

From the historical Krokees of Laconia, the combination of fresh air from Taygetos, the sea breeze of the Laconian gulf, the rich soil and our love for the precious olive tree combine to produce our exceptional virgin olive oil. It has high polyphenols and antioxidant properties, very low acidity with a rich aroma, fruity taste and green color. A drop of treasure on your table!

Our roots

The olive groves of the Christakou family are located in Krokees, in the prefecture of Laconia in the Peloponnese. Violagro is a family business active in the production and marketing of extra virgin olive oil. Our Olive Groves are located at an altitude of 300 meters. The varieties we use are two and they are the following: Koroneiki and Smyrtolia. The combination of these two varieties offers us olive oil that is unique in quality, taste and aroma. In 1940, the family began the journey of olive oil production and each generation passed on their knowledge to the next. The family's love for olives and olive oil played an important role in the continuous improvement and today's flawless result.

The knowledge of olive oil production has been passed down through four generations. Each generation has kept the traditional cultivation methods, constantly developing the know-how of olive oil production with the sole purpose of the olive oil being of excellent quality. This has led us today to package the pure and unique olive oil, the quality of which is brought out through cold pressing during the oiling process of the fruit.

Christakos family

One day she told us, from when she remembers herself in the fields and picking olives. She told us "I remember back then, when I was little too, my grandmother along with other women wearing their woven skirts and their flowery headscarves in their hair which were yellow and white... that's how they dressed then. We used to go to the fields and pick the olives with our hands and we also had the ladders to climb high in the trees.. And while we were picking we sang songs together.. " Grandmother Irene, as she narrated them, took us back in time... and suddenly an idea came to us! Let's dress up in traditional costumes and live a moment of this season, you mean with grandma! We want to share this journey through time with you, conveying to you our love and respect for the sacred olive tree, which has been passed down from generation to generation and has remained unchanged until now... Continuing to create our own our history.
