WHO ARE WE
The history of olive oil is confused with that of Tunisia. Many Mediterranean civilizations took turns throughout history to spread the culture of the olive tree: Phoenician, Carthaginian and Arab ... Tunisian olive oil is famous for its unique fragrance, its inimitable taste, its beautiful golden robe and an ancestral know-how. Forerunner and visionary, the Ben Achour family has known since 1925 what the press claims today. For years the family has been producing olive oil until it became an exemplary success and a local market leader named AL JAZIRA. Although the plant is modern and at the forefront of technology AL JAZIRA has preserved the techniques and traditions that characterize its activities for several years. The Romans developed the further cultivation of the olive intensifying irrigation on this land to the scarce rain, the technique of oil extraction as evidenced by excavations in Sbeitla and El Jem and the many Roman mosaics discoveries in Sousse.
